In three steps, this practice it returns us to the present moment, invites us to expand our perspectives, and empowers us to move forward.
Gratefulness has three steps: not missing the opportunity, appreciating the opportunity, and using or enjoying the opportunity. By this method we come fully alive, full of joy, which is what we are all longing for
- Br. David Steindl-Rast
Through daily practice, Stop.Look.Go enables us to clear the clutter of our minds and our hearts. Stopping brings us back to the present moment and reminds us that life is a gift. Looking allows us to listen and identify opportunities to be grateful. We are then empowered to go forward, taking action towards a meaningful and purposeful life in our own unique ways
I am finding us a location. If you have space and would like to help host this event please email hamraduncan@gmail.com. I'm leaning toward somewhere outdoors where we can feel the cold and the sun. Maybe smell the rain or hear the birds.
Friday the 7th from 5-6:15pm in the evening. Maybe Duke of Glouchester Street?
OR
Sunday the 20th from 10:30-11:45am in the morning. Maybe at Jamestown beach?
Both events have the same content, so you only need to attend one or the other. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to settle in.
This gathering will bounce back and forth between silent reflection and group conversation so you'll have a chance to connect with multiple people. Plus, I'll hang around after the event for "porch time" if you want to keep the conversation going.
Please bring your phone for watching the video, a journal for taking notes, warm clothes, and a comfortable chair if you need something softer than a wooden bench.
Draft Agenda:
Optional porch time to hangout and chat.
Can't attend? Here are some external groups and events you might like just as much...
